For IAC Group, we provided a full environmental assessment of the site of former Czechoslovak and later Soviet military barracks in Zákupy, where the IAC company expanded its manufacturing operations. The assessment included a Phase I audit followed by extensive contamination surveys. Due to the military history of the site, the investigation also involved geophysical surveys to detect potential unexploded ordnance, and expert supervision of asbestos-containing material removal.
For a major real estate developer, we conducted both Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessment, including a comprehensive evolution of historical and current activities and their environmental impacts. This included verification of contamination in soil and building materials. Based on the results, we updated the risk assessment and recommended site clean up, followed by preparation of the concrete remedial project.
ENACON provides comprehensive environmental audits for both greenfield developments and, with growing frequency, brownfield redevelopment projects. Following the initial site inspection and review (Phase I), we proceed—where justified— with contamination investigations (Phase II), including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing.
Each year, we participate—often in cooperation with our international partners—in numerous pre-acquisition (due diligence) audits of manufacturing sites and commercial properties across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In recent years, these have included facilities in the automotive sector, electrical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, food processing, metallurgy, heavy machinery, or magnesite mining and processing operations.
For certain clients, ENACON conducts compliance audits using the ENHESA protocol—a structured checklist-based system providing a detailed overview of applicable environmental and OHS legal requirements. We have delivered such audits at e.g. medical device manufacturing facility, a production site for household detergents and cleaning agents, and a logistics hub for a global e-commerce retailer.
ZF (formerly TRW Automotive), a global automotive supplier with over 200 manufacturing sites worldwide, has implemented a comprehensive auditing programme for environmental and health and safety performance. The programme’s goals include reducing EHS risks and liabilities, ensuring consistent compliance with all applicable legislation, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The programme was originally developed in partnership with the global consulting firm ERM.
