In cooperation with the international consulting firm Ramboll, we took part in a purpose-specific risk assessment study for part of a pharmaceutical site where demolition of a former chemical production building was planned. Soil and groundwater contamination—primarily by volatile organic compounds (VOCs)—was confirmed. The study evaluated health risks during and after demolition, as well as the potential for contamination to leach into groundwater via infiltration. Follow-up measures to minimise these risks were recommended based on the assessment results.
