Software Toolbox Sanace
SoftwareToolbox Sanace allows to evaluate, balance and visualize results of site investigations and, in addition, to design, assess and optimize methods of remediation of the subsurface. The main benefit of this tool is increase in efficiency of selection of the most appropriate method of the site remediation with respect to its future use and cost related to treatment to the level complying with the planned land use or of the process of finding optimal future land use (future site sensitivity) under reasonable costs for its restoration.
SoftwareToolbox Sanace was programmed using the integrated programme language Python and .NET as an extension of the ArcGIS Desktop 10 software of Esri.
SoftwareToolbox Sanace has following main functions:
-
Create3D models of the sites of interest
-
Create3D visualisation of contamination by contaminants exceeding given limits
-
Computation of volumes of contaminated soil
-
Tool for design of an optimal remedial method for site remediation using selected criteria (cost, time,..) under condition of achieving the required residual level of contamination
-
Tool for design of optimal scope of remediationunder acceptable remedial costs (finding optimal level of residual contamination)
Input data(topographical and geological data, data on investigation boreholes, collection of samples, contaminant concentrations,..) can be input into the software simply via an import of the Excel files. Similarly, limit concentrations - assessment criteria for delineation and volume calculations, can be amended.
Outputs can be visualized using ArcMap or ArcScene.
Example of contamination plumes of benzenes, PCE a mercury delineated using limits for residual land use (visualisation in ArcMap)
Example of dialog window with assessed remedial method of air stripping
The software was developed by joint effort of specialists of companies ENACON s.r.o. and T-MAPY spol. s r.o. with a financial support of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade (project no. VaVFR-TI1/555).
