Research

ENACON participates in research, development and verification of innovative remedial techniques at the laboratory or pilot scale or, in some cases under actual field conditions.

Successfully tested, verified and/ro developed techniques which ENACON has participated on include:

  • remediation technology Thermo-bio-rem based on the thermally supported in-situ anaerobic bioremediation of chlorinated contaminants
  • remediation technology Biofer-rem relying on the application of iron microparticles and an easily fermenting substrate to the contaminated rock environment
  • automatic circulation system for delivery and distribution of remedial agents in the subsurface
  • in-situ technology Nano-Bio-Rem combining abiotic and biologically mediated reduction of Cr(VI)
  • in-situ biological reductive dehalogenation
  • remedial method using zero-valent iron for remediation of groundwater contaminated with chlorinated hydrocarbons
  • in-situ chemical reduction for treatment of groundwater contaminated with hexavalent chromium
  • permeable reactive barriers for containment of mixed organic contaminant plume
